This site is dedicated to emulation of old 8-bit computers. Currently, my main product is JasminEmu - an open-source ZX Spectrum 48 emulator. Some early effects of my work can already be downloaded below. The long-term goal is to transform JasminEmu into multimachine emulator covering other 8-bit computers of the 80's.

JasminEmu

Another open-source ZX Spectrum emulator written in Java. Click here to start. It runs on Windows, Linux and Mac with Java 1.5.0 or newer installed.

The emulator leverages JOGL for graphics, and JOAL for audio. Since I'm developing it on a Mac, I'd like to know how does it perform on other systems. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Note, that JasminEmu is still in very early development stage. Don't expect it to run fast and flawlessly. I decided to host the open-source project on Google Code. The project is named jasminemu. Note, that only a small part of all sources are available at this moment; the remaining part needs minor refactoring and organising before publishing.

JasminEmu for Mac

JasminEmu with native Mac OS X Cocoa user interface.

WiredGL & WiredAL

A protocols of sending OpenGL and OpenAL function calls over a pair of binary streams. Reference implementations will be available in Java (client and server) and C (server only). As you may expect, the main purpose for this is to connect JasminEmu with Cocoa.
